  • Time: Ribbon Cutting Ceremony from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Parking: Jordan Village Public Parking Lot (3763 Nineteenth Street) with limited on-street parking

Project Update

The final phase of construction in Jordan Village is nearing completion. We are excited to see this transformational project take shape, fulfilling the vision for Jordan Village to become an even more vibrant and connected part of the community and a premier tourist destination.

Surface paving is now complete throughout the project. The updated outstanding work on the project is outlined below:

  • King Street signal installation and concrete crosswalk installation (August 12 to August 19 – see attached notice)
  • Public parking lot paver stone crosswalks installation (Planned to remain open during this work)
  • King Street south sidewalk construction from Nineteenth Street to St. Johns Drive (September – outside of roadway)
  • Minor finishing touches and deficiency works

To celebrate the completion of this ambitious project, the Town will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony in the fall. Stay tuned for further communications and updates on our website about this exciting event.

We extend our gratitude to all affected residents and businesses for their patience and cooperation during this project. We also acknowledge the hard work of our contractor, Trenchline & Roads Inc., and our inspection staff at Arcadis for a job well done.

Project Goals

The Jordan Village Improvement Project is a major undertaking by the Town of Lincoln to rebuild and improve the infrastructure in Jordan Village. The project will include low-impact development construction techniques and features to reduce factors of climate change. The project is expected to encourage active transportation and to enhance the area for residents, businesses and visitors.

The Jordan Village Improvement project will create an anchor destination for residents, businesses, and tourists by building a connected and beautified neighbourhood that focuses on safety, complete streets, landscape appeal, and local heritage.

This project will align with several of the Towns plans, including:


Project Highlights

Some of the key improvements this project will bring to Jordan Village include:

  • New signalized intersection at King Street and Nineteenth Street
  • Pedestrian Square at Main Street and King Street
  • Integration with new Jordan Museum and existing commercial district
  • Increased neighbourhood appeal through landscaping and roadway pavers
  • Focus on investing in the local tree canopy
  • Wayfinding pillars and signage
  • Improved decorative streetlighting
  • Dedicated cycling facilities and increased pedestrian connectivity
  • Community parking lot and arrival zone

Project Objectives

Many improvements to the existing infrastructure on Main St., Nineteenth St., Wismer St., and Twenty-First St. will be completed in order to meet the project goals.

These improvements fall under three categories and include:

1. Underground work:

  • New sanitary main servicing Nineteenth Street, Wismer Road and Main Street with the outflow on Twenty-First Street
  • Integration of new stormwater system with “Soil Cell” technology servicing all streets on the project with two (2) outflow areas:
    1. The intersection of Nineteenth Street and Fourth Avenue
    2. Into the existing outflow at Main Street and Twenty-First Street
  • New watermain servicing the area’s residents and businesses

2. Surface work:

  • Construction of new signalized intersection at King and Nineteenth Streets
  • Two (2) new three way stops along Nineteenth Street at Snure Lane and Wismer Street
  • Closing of Main Street’s access to King Street and the creation of pedestrian plaza
  • Combination of hot mix asphalt and roadway pavers for driving surfaces
  • Sidewalk construction on all streets
  • Dedicated cycle-path on both boulevards along Nineteenth Street
  • Two (2) Retaining Wall Systems:
    1. Main Street south Parking Lot
    2. Existing sidewalk along the Valley
  • New street lights on all streets
  • Construction of new roadway across from the Fire Hall - Snure Lane
  • Installation of wayfinding pillars at intersections

3. Aesthetic enhancements:

  • Enhanced electrical and street lighting component complete with ambient lights and wayfinding pillars
  • Extensive tree and shrub planting to enhance the area
  • Reconstruction and Enhancement of Existing Parking lots:
    1. Reconstruction of south parking lot on Main Street
    2. Reconstruction of parking lot next to Fire Hall
    3. New overflow lot behind Fire Hall)
  • Construction of a new road, Snure Lane

      • A significant milestone – underground infrastructure is now complete, including watermain, storm sewers, and sanitary sewers. Additionally, Jordan Village is now serviced by a complete loop of a new watermain on Main Street and Nineteenth Street.

      • Reopened to traffic by the end of the day, over 1 month ahead of schedule!
      • Completed surface works including sidewalks, driveway aprons, decorative crosswalk, and asphalt paving.
      • Please note the final lift of asphalt will be paved next spring.
    • Main Street Phase 4B:
      • Completed sanitary sewer main.
      • Ongoing vibration monitoring to verify vibrations caused by construction remain within acceptable limits.
    • Nineteenth Street Public Parking lot:
      • Completed concrete bus drop-off, curb works, and fine grading.

    • Main Street Phase 4A:
      • Completed road base construction, curbs, and sidewalk
      • Paver stones installed in on-street parking spaces
    • Main Street Phase 4B:
      • Completed road removal
      • Initiated sanitary sewer installation
      • Vibration monitoring boxes have been installed to verify vibrations caused by construction remain within acceptable limits
    • Nineteenth Street Public Parking lot:
      • Installed electrical ducts, grading, and curbs
    • Snure Lane sidewalks completed


    Expected Works (May 15 – May 24):

    • Main Street Phase 4A:
      • Continuation surface works, landscaping, and preparations for paving
    • Main Street Phase 4B:
      • Continue sanitary sewer installation
    • Nineteenth Street Public Parking lot:
      • Complete curbs, concrete bus drop-off, and preparations for paving
      • Reopen full time by May 19 in stone. Paving to be completed week of May 29.

    • A portion of the Nineteenth Street parking lot will now be open to the public on weekends (Friday at 6pm to Monday at 6am). Construction will continue during the week to complete curbs, fine grading, and asphalt by May 19, 2023 (weather permitting).
