The Town of Lincoln has developed an Active Transportation Network that supports the Council priority of a connected community.

Lincoln continues to attract and retain people of all ages and abilities, which means there is an increasing need for improved infrastructure, programs, and initiatives that support alternative types of transportation like Active Transportation (AT). As part of the Town's Transportation Master Plan (TMP), an Active Transportation Strategy (ATS) was developed to assist in directing Town staff and decision makers in how to best address increasing AT needs within Lincoln.

Active Transportation is any mode of transportation that uses power from your own body to move you. Active transportation plays a significant role in promoting the over-all health and well being of communities. Walking, biking, jogging, and rollerblading are all examples of AT.
