The Town of Lincoln’s Fall 2022 Tree Giveaway and Rain Barrel Sale will be drive-thru contactless pickup, held at the Lincoln Community Centre (4361 Central Ave, Beamsville, ON L0R 1B6) from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday October 22, 2022.

The tree giveaway is open to Lincoln residents only. Identification with proof of residency such as a driver’s license or recent utility bill will be required upon pickup. Orders with billing addresses that are not located in the Town of Lincoln will be cancelled. Limit of one tree and two rain barrels per household.


Order a Free Tree

The tree species available at the 2022 Fall Tree Giveaway include Eastern White Cedar, White Birch, Freeman maple, Nannyberry. Trees are approx. 80-100cm (approx. 3ft) tall and will be in 3gal pots. Homeowners are responsible to plant, water and maintain the private tree. To learn more about the species and planting tips click here.

Those interested in ordering a free tree must reserve a spot. Quantities are limited and there is a limit of one tree per household. Households trying to obtain more than one tree may have all of their requests voided.

Pick-up times for each tree species are:

  • Eastern White Cedar – 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
  • White Birch – 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Freeman maple & Nannyberry – 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

If you are picking up a tree AND a rain barrel, please arrive during the tree timeslot. If you are picking up a rain barrel ONLY, please arrive between 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Do not arrive outside your scheduled window as your tree will not be available for pickup. Orders not picked up on October 22, will be voided.


Purchase a Rain Barrel

Rain barrels are available at a subsidized cost of $54.91 + tax and there is a limit of two rain barrels per household. Rain barrel sales close October 21 or until quantities last.

Rain Catcher 4000 Barrel Specifications:

  • Assembled Dimensions: 24"D x 24"W x 32"H
  • Total Volume: 6 cu ft / 50 Gallon / 189 L
  • The barrels are constructed of recycled, UV inhibited, BPA free polyethylene.
  • Includes debris screen, garden hose, shut-off thumb valve, hanging hose clip, overflow hose, and linking kit.

If you are picking up a tree AND a rain barrel, please arrive during the tree timeslot. If you are picking up a rain barrel ONLY, please arrive between 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Do not arrive outside your scheduled window as your barrel will not be available for pickup.

    How do I order a tree?

    If you have not previously ordered a tree you can pre-order one for pickup from Jordan Lions Park (2793 Fourth Ave, Jordan Station, ON L0R 1S0) between 9am-4pm on Friday May 20. 

    Availability is on a first-come first served basis. All trees must be pre-ordered. There will be no day-of/in-person sales. 

    Please note there is a limit of one tree per household. Households trying to obtain more than one tree may have all of their requests voided. Proof of Lincoln residency is required upon pickup. If you previously ordered a tree and did not pickup, you are NOT eligible to order again.

    Do I get to choose the kind of tree I want or is it according to availability

    Thank you for your question. Lincoln will be giving away a limited quantity of free trees that residents can pre-order online. Residents are able to choose 1 of 5 species, however orders are on a first-come, first-served basis. Please continue to check the website in case there are any order cancellations.

    There are 5 tree species available: Paper Birch (Betula papyrifera­), Serviceberry (Amelanchier spp.), Black Cherry (Prunus serotina), Sycamore (Platanus occidentalis), or Hackberry (Celtis occidentalis)Please visit the FAQs to find out more about each species and their suitability to your yard conditions.
