The Town of Lincoln is in the process of creating a Community Low-Carbon Resilience Plan to help the community adapt to climate change and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Throughout this process, the Town is engaging with the public and key stakeholders to ensure the plan reflects your concerns and visions for a Sustainable Lincoln. This survey aims to understand perspectives on high-level climate actions, gather GHG and single-use plastics reduction action ideas, and develop a vision and principles to guide the planning process.

    How do I order a tree?

    If you have not previously ordered a tree you can pre-order one for pickup from Jordan Lions Park (2793 Fourth Ave, Jordan Station, ON L0R 1S0) between 9am-4pm on Friday May 20. 

    Availability is on a first-come first served basis. All trees must be pre-ordered. There will be no day-of/in-person sales. 

    Please note there is a limit of one tree per household. Households trying to obtain more than one tree may have all of their requests voided. Proof of Lincoln residency is required upon pickup. If you previously ordered a tree and did not pickup, you are NOT eligible to order again.

    Do I get to choose the kind of tree I want or is it according to availability

    Thank you for your question. Lincoln will be giving away a limited quantity of free trees that residents can pre-order online. Residents are able to choose 1 of 5 species, however orders are on a first-come, first-served basis. Please continue to check the website in case there are any order cancellations.

    There are 5 tree species available: Paper Birch (Betula papyrifera­), Serviceberry (Amelanchier spp.), Black Cherry (Prunus serotina), Sycamore (Platanus occidentalis), or Hackberry (Celtis occidentalis)Please visit the FAQs to find out more about each species and their suitability to your yard conditions. Thank you.

    Thank you for your question. The Town of Lincoln's tree giveaway and rain barrel sale is open to Town of Lincoln residents only and proof of Town of Lincoln residency is required, (ex. driver’s license, mail from Town of Lincoln, property tax, water bill, etc.).

    Confused regarding the trees at one part it states free tree. Down further it says will be sold in pots ?? Free tree or cost

    Thank you for your question. Lincoln will be giving away free trees on a first-come, first-served basis. Trees will be in three-gallon pots and are approx. three-feet tall. They should easily fit inside a standard car.

    Rain barrels and trees can only be pre-ordered online. There will be no in-person or event day sales and availability is on a first-come first served basis. There is no cost to order a tree. Rain barrels are sold at a subsided price of $54.91 + tax.

    Hello, I am trying to register for the tree giveaway, but it is telling me I'm ineligible. I'm not sure if this might be due to my new Postal Code? Any assistance would be appreciated.

    When do we get a number for barrel purchase

    Thank you for your question. 

    Click here to order a free tree and here to buy a rain barrel.

    A week before the event, residents who pre-ordered a tree and/or rain barrel will receive an email with:

    • a location map of the pickup zone at Jordan Lions Park
    • a pickup timeslot between 8am and 1pm.
    • additional information on how to plant and take care of their tree and how to install and maintain their rain barrel.

    Don't forget: Proof of Lincoln residency is required upon pickup, (ex. driver’s license, mail from Town of Lincoln, property tax, water bill, etc.) 

    Town staff will load the tree and rain barrel into each vehicle. Residents are asked to stay in their vehicle all times.

    Will there be more birch trees available? I purchased two last year which were nibbled on by bunnies and died.
