Project Description

The Prudhommes Watermain Upgrades Project has been approved to begin construction and is tentatively planned to break ground in October 2024. The general contractor completing the construction work is Earth Boring Co. Limited.

This is a significant construction project that includes the following work:

  • 6.5 km of new water underground infrastructure
    1. Jordan Road from Fourth Avenue to the North Service Road
    2. North Service Road from Jordan Road to Victoria Avenue
    3. Victoria Avenue QEW Highway crossing from the North Service Road to the South Service Road
    4. Construction includes the replacement of private water service lines to the limit of the road right-of-way
  • Specialized trenchless construction methods and key crossings
    1. Trenchless construction methodologies will be used to reduce impacts to local traffic and residents
    2. Two (2) crossings of the QEW Highway at Victoria Avenue and Jordan Road
    3. One (1) crossing of the CN Rail on Jordan Road

This construction is required to support the increased water servicing and fire flow demands for the approved Prudhommes Secondary Plan and replace the aging sections of the existing watermain. Please note that, as this is a dedicated water project, any areas impacted by the construction works will be restored new to their original state, as documented prior to construction.

What To Expect Next

Residents within the project limits will be contacted directly by an OZA representative to optionally schedule a free precondition survey of their property. This information is used to determine the extent of contractor responsibility in the unlikely event that damage occurs during construction.

This free home inspection service is recommended for residents, however, is optional. If the interior inspection is declined, an exterior-only inspection will be performed. Please note, to protect your privacy, the information gathered stays with the third party and the contractor, and the Town of Lincoln does not have access to any information unless a claim is filed.

Local and business entrances will be accessible throughout the project. Two-way traffic is to be generally maintained with the occasional use of traffic flag persons. Prior to any required road closures, the Town will distribute public notices providing additional details and specific timing.
