The Town of Lincoln has launched a public survey to gain feedback regarding the preferred method(s) of voting for the 2022 Municipal and School Board Election.

We want to hear from you about how you want to vote in the 2022 Municipal and School Board Election.

Background on Voting Methods

In the 2018 Municipal and School Board Election, the Town used both internet and in-person voting while offering advanced voting and on the day of the election. Similar to the 2018 Election, the Town is considering additional remote options of voting methods that a voter can cast their ballot such as vote by mail, vote by phone, curbside voting, and internet voting. Regardless of the type of voting method, all methods are required under the Municipal Act to maintain individual vote secrecy, be accessible to all voters and ensure that all voters and candidates are treated fairly and consistently.

In the survey you can also share your feedback about your experience voting in earlier municipal elections as well as provide your ideas on how to improve the voting experience. Your feedback will help us make voting easier for residents and ensure flexibility for any future COVID-19 restrictions.

Results from the survey will be presented to Council for consideration.

About the 2022 Election

The 2022 Municipal and School Board Election will take place on October 24, 2022 across Ontario. During the municipal election in Lincoln, you can vote for the following representatives for these offices:

A person is entitled to be an elector in the Town of Lincoln if, on voting day (October 24, 2022):

  • They reside in the Town of Lincoln, or is the owner or tenant of land in Lincoln, or is the spouse of such owner or tenant
  • Is a Canadian Citizen
  • Is at least 18 years old; and
  • Is not prohibited from voting under the Municipal Elections Act, or any other Act.
