Why a New Vision for Vineland?
The Town of Lincoln, in partnership with Niagara Region, is initiating a project to revitalize Vineland’s downtown, or central business district, ultimately transforming it into a vibrant and dynamic community destination. The block is bordered by King Street, Victoria Avenue, Tallman Drive, and Orchard Avenue.
This is a long-term vision to restore the area to a commercial, social and cultural hub for Lincoln, thus fostering future growth and community prosperity. There is much potential in this district to create vibrant and connected community-focused spaces.
What We Hope to Achieve
Through this exercise, we are looking to develop strategic principles meant to guide the area’s long-term growth and development, rather than create a strict set of regulations. This is a longer-term project that will require input from stakeholders and community members alike to create a collective and conceptual vision for this space.
This transformation won't necessarily begin as soon as this vision is approved or be triggered by an upcoming development concept. Instead, it is meant to be a long-term vision to guide growth and development as they occur over time.
Further, the vision will provide guidance to the development of the central business district and overall streetscape, rather than commenting on individual detailed designs.
The goal is to develop a vision that will lead to a cohesive and vibrant downtown Vineland.
