Jordan Village Improvement Project Update
With the warmer weather approaching, the Town’s contractor (Trenchline and Roads Inc.) will be starting the road construction on Main Street in the coming weeks.
As presented at last year’s Business Open House, Main Street will be completed in three sections to reduce disruption. The first section of construction will be the roadway fronting the Inn On The Twenty and the north commercial building. The road, on-street parking, and lower west sidewalk will be fenced off and closed. The east sidewalk will remain open, and a temporary ramp will be constructed to allow pedestrian access from the parking lot to the west commercial building upper sidewalk.
Preparations for construction will begin the week of February 20 including some fencing and signage. Main Street is tentatively scheduled to be closed on February 27; formal notices and a media release will follow shortly.
The Town has ordered decorative fence banners which will be installed in early March. These will be placed in key locations to enhance the aesthetics of the construction fencing and communicate the Open for Business messaging. Signage will also be installed to direct visitors from the parking lot to the temporary ramp.
We understand that construction will be disruptive, and we would like to maintain an open line of communication with the public and businesses. We will do our best to address any concerns in a timely manner. Nem Antunovic is the project’s site inspector; he is available on site full-time to assist you with addressing any immediate concerns. Please also feel free to contact me at my cell phone number or by email should you have any questions or concerns. For urgent after-hour inquiries, please phone our 24-hour Public Works line.
