Help Shape Our Future

The Lincoln Museum and Cultural Centre is starting the development of its new 2025-2030 Strategic Plan, and we want to hear from YOU! As we plan for the future, your input will help the museum continue to be a welcoming space for everyone in the community.

Our previous strategic plan laid the foundation for exciting developments at the museum, from expanded programming to improved community engagement. We’ve seen wonderful growth over the past five years, but we know there’s always more we can do. As we develop the next plan, we want to build on our strengths and adapt to the changing needs of our community.

This survey is your chance to share your thoughts, ideas, and feedback on the direction of our museum. Whether you visit often or have never been, we want your museum to remain a place where all feel welcome, represented, and inspired.

Please take a few minutes to complete the survey. Your responses will help us create a vibrant and inclusive future for the Lincoln Museum and Cultural Centre. Thank you for being a part of this exciting journey!

The Museum in 2025

Our Vision:

The Lincoln Museum and Cultural Centre: Home of the Jordan Historical Museum of the Twenty is a vibrant gathering place that shapes our community by engaging and inspiring residents and visitors in the celebration of heritage and culture.

Our Mission:

The Lincoln Museum and Cultural Centre: Home of The Jordan Historical Museum of the Twenty is dedicated to the interpretation, exhibition, research, collection, and preservation of past, present, and future narratives relevant to the Town and the Niagara Region. Enriching the cultural fabric of our community through inclusive engagements will empower us to listen, learn, and acknowledge our history.

Our Values:

  • Accessible & Inclusive: The Museum is a welcoming organization that embraces and celebrates the diversity of our community; past, present, and future. It is a place that facilitates access to its programs and services for people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.
  • Collaborative: The Museum is an organization that develops and fosters collaboration and partnerships within our community, the cultural sector, industries, and businesses.
  • Responsive: The Museum is responsive to the needs, challenges, and issues facing its community by committing itself to active dialogue and action.
  • Innovative: The Museum is innovative in its approach to seeking new ideas, and welcoming new knowledge and voices.
  • Responsible & Accountable: The Museum strives to be sustainable and accountable through its responsible and transparent actions in the areas of governance, management, storytelling, and stewardship.

A strategic plan is a roadmap that helps guide the direction of an organization over a period of time, typically three to five years. It outlines the key goals and objectives the organization aims to achieve and the strategies it will use to reach them. Think of it as a blueprint for future growth, ensuring that all efforts and resources are focused on what matters most.

In the case of the Lincoln Museum and Cultural Centre, our strategic plan helps us align our activities with the needs of the community, our mission, and our vision for the future. The plan helps us prioritize actions, make informed decisions, and evaluate our progress. It is a living document, meaning it can evolve as circumstances change, but it always provides a clear direction.

Strategic plans are different from operational plans. While operational plans focus on day-to-day activities, a strategic plan looks at long-term sustainability, responds to the environment, and helps define the future of the museum.

The strategic plan is designed to address key areas of growth and development, which will be shaped by your input. By setting clear goals, the plan helps us stay focused on our core purpose: creating a welcoming and inclusive space where people can come together, learn, and share stories.

We are ready to build on the successes of our past and chart a path forward for the next five years. With the completion of the Jordan Village Improvement Project and exciting opportunities ahead, including engagement at the Sho'arishon Indigenous Cultural Park, we have a lot to work towards.

This survey is an essential part of our planning process. We’re asking for your thoughts, ideas, and feedback to help us define our priorities, explore new possibilities, and ensure that our next strategic plan reflects what matters most to YOU.

This survey is just the first step in shaping the future of your museum. It will help us better understand who our community is and what matters most to you.

Once the survey results are tallied, we invite you to take the next step and join us for a public visioning session. At this session, we will work together to identify the museum's strengths, explore opportunities for growth, and strategize for the museum in 2030. This will be an interactive opportunity for you to engage directly with our team, ask questions, and share your ideas on how we can continue to serve and inspire our community.
